Create a shape memory game

Notez cet article

Develop your children's dexterity by making a shape memory game together (10 pairs to find), then encourage them to play, training their memory!

Depending on the age of your children, you can increase the difficulty of the game by incorporating colour changes or subtle variations between 2 pairs...

Materials:

Step 1

Draw 20 squares that measure 6cm by 6cm on Bristol Canson® 250g/m² white paper with a pencil.

Ask the children to cut out the 20 cards you have thus created.

Step 2

Then ask the children to colour one side of the Bristol paper in the colour of their choice. Be careful though, because the number of cards coloured in one colour must be even…!

Step 3

Then give the children some brightly coloured sheets of Canson® Vivaldi® paper on which you have also drawn 20 squares. These will serve as the "boundaries" for drawing the shapes.

Ask the children to draw different shapes inside the squares such as circles, squares, triangles, rhombuses and stars.

Each shape must be repeated 4 times – so 2 copies in the same colour – to create the pairs.

Step 4

Ask the children to cut out the 20 drawn-out shapes.

Step 5

Encourage the children to glue the shapes onto the coloured squares, being careful to make pairs!

Your memory game is finished, now you just have to turn the cards face up so their decoration is hidden... then you can start looking for pairs!
